What denomination of slots should I play 32s1414 June 20253e4t2n I really enjoy playing the slot machines. They are not like video poker machines. They are not like table games. They do not take any skill or special knowledge. I do not have to learn any strategies. I know intuitively how to play them. I do not have to interact with other players like at table games. I can just be myself and play. All that being said, I do have one question for you about playing slot machines. Am I better off playing a low denomination slot with maximum credits or a higher denomination slot with only one credit? It would be less or roughly the same amount each spin with a single credit, so I assume that theoretically I could play longer, though possibly winning a little less playing one credit. What are your thoughts on this subject? Ruth Hi Ruth, Slot machines are by far the most popular games in the casino. You are not alone in wondering about the best denomination to bet. You seem to be a careful gambler. The questions you are asking indicate that you are watching the money you are using to gamble. Therefore, I assume that you play only with money you can afford to lose. It is also evident that you do not want to overplay your bankroll. You are probably aware that you can easily run over $250 through a 25¢ three-coin machine in an hour. Playing a three-coin dollar machine moves the figure to over $1,000 per hour, so you want to get the best “bang for your buck.” I also assume that you are not interested in playing the “Mega Jackpot” games that are linked to several casinos and offer jackpots in the millions. These games will quickly drain your bankroll. Okay, enough for the preliminary statements and on to answering your specific questions. There are three major types of slots: 1. Those that add additional play lines as you bet additional credits per spin 2. Those that simple multiply the amount paid for winning hands by the number of credits bet 3. Those that add winning combinations as you bet additional credits Depending on the specific type of slot being played, the answer can vary. For types 1 and 2, there is no advantage to betting additional credits. The amount won or lost will be the same percentage of the amount bet. These slots can be played with one credit of whatever size you find comfortable. Just make sure that all the winning amounts are the same ratio as the one-credit amount. For example, a certain combination pays 50 credits for one credit bet, 100 credits for two credits and 150 credits for three credits bet. The pay is always 50-for-1. However, if you are going to play a machine that adds winning combinations with more credits played (type 3), always play maximum coins. Also, if your slot is a type 2 but the amount won is not the same multiple when additional credits are bet (for example, 50 credits for a one-credit bet, 100 credits for a two-credit bet, and 300 credits for a three-credit bet), you will probably be better off playing three smaller credits – depending on the difference. I hope this clears thing up for you, and that you have a great time playing your favorite slots. As always, may all your wins be swift and large, and your losses be slow and tiny.
